A short time ago, I share my first fitness video with you.  It was a short video illustrating a few moves using resistance bands to help strengthen the arms and legs.  While a decent start, those exercises barely involved the booty.

I received many positive comments, encouraging feedback, and interesting questions.  Since that resistance band workout post generated so much interest, I decided to make another video for you focusing on the booty.

Sure, we want that rump to look good in a bathing suit.  It is summer, after all.  However, the glutes, the muscles that form the butt, serve to help us walk and stand erect.  Keeping them strong will make you look better, but also help you function in daily tasks like walking upstairs, side-stepping an obstacle, or crouching down to lift a bag of groceries.

The booty muscles also help with posture.  While good posture looks better than slouching, good posture also aligns the organs and improves their efficiency.

Basically, there’s “butts” about it! (Sorry, I couldn’t resist).  Having strong gluteal muscles improves more than your sensuality.  It’s also healthier!

Booty LoopsFor this video, I use Booty Loops Resistance bands.  They come in a set of three offering light, medium, and heavy resistance.  The set also comes with a complimentary instruction card with a booty workout.  My moves are borrowed from this card.

Please keep in mind, I am not a doctor or a fitness trainer.  I’m simply a blogger that enjoys living a healthy lifestyle and shares my tips with others.

Please consult an expert health professional before starting this or any other workout to make sure that these moves are appropriate for your body.

Last item of note, you do not have to have these bands to do these moves.  Any good quality resistance loops should work.  However, if you are new to exercise, you don’t have to use the equipment at all.  Simply use your own body weight as resistance.  Work at your own pace.  If you feel pain, stop.

    Resistance bands are one of my favorite things to use. I get a great home workout with them and it’s just as effective as lifting.

    I have not heard of this type of exercise. I could use it after the fiesta of food winter I have had. That tight tush is a must for me!

    Oh, if I could ever get myself to start working out consistently!! I’ve used resistance bands before but these seem a lot more durable.

    Ah, I guess those bands really help you hit those muscles at home. You definitely can’t neglect that area when if you want good posture!

    I love resistance bands. They work you out without having to lift heavy weights. I also love the video showing how to do these exercise correctly.
